Parkinson's diseaseDESCRIPTIONParkinson?s disease is a degenerative brain disorder first described by James Parkinson in 1817. It dramatically affects motor regions of the brain, leaving mental function completely intact. Clinically, Parkinson?s is the opposite of Alzheimer?s disease, which deteriorates mental function rather than motor skills. The typical symptoms usually begin in middle to late life with trembling of the lips and hands, loss of facial expression, and muscular rigidity. As the malady progresses, it may bring on body tremors, particularly in muscles at rest. Movements become slow and difficult. Only recently, Parkinson?s disease (shaking palsy) has been proven to contain a genetic component. Toxicity seems to be apparent, notably aluminum and mercury, and oxidation is being implicated. Neurosurgical procedures have achieved notable benefits for some patients. HERBSNUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTSEvening Primrose Oil (1) REFERENCES1. Critchley E.
